Vytis Kennels breeds quality purebred dogs for family, pet and companion in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas area.
About Our Dogs
Our dogs come from quality lines with some showing and agility competition backgrounds.
Some of the dogs we produce do have purebred paperwork from AKC and UKC.
We strive to produce a sound animal with health and genetic issues in mind. We have puppies on occasion and sometimes young adults. We utilize our Veterinarian to ensure that our dogs and puppies are at their peak health before they leave to their new homes.
All of the puppies are socialized with people to ensure a proper relationship for their future home. We believe the socialization in the home promotes a more stable puppy and therefore a more stable adult dog.
Our Kennel Name
We named our kennel after the state emblem of the country our family is from, Lithuania.
The Lithuanian State emblem is one of the oldest emblems in Europe. It is Vytis. A white armoured rider with a shield on its left shoulder, riding a white horse and having a sword prepared for a stab, is on the red background of the emblem.
The symbols of the emblem are taken from the dukes' portrait stamps, as a rider in Lithuania was a symbol of a ruler.
Simonas Daukantas created the term "Vytis" in the 19th Century. He used this term for Lithuanian noblemen and riders. A silver armoured rider with a sword above his head and a blue shield with a double cross on the left shoulder is in the red field.
A red color meant earthly values: life, courage, blood. A blue one is for emotional values: heaven, divine wisdom and intelligence.
